Still in hospital!

And so here I sit for at least another day. I feel fine and surgeon was in before 8 am to say I was drinking well and had met all his targets and he was just waiting on today's bloodwork and would call up between cases but that he felt I was going home. Twenty minutes later the nurse comes to say he won't release me but nobody seems to know why exactly. Or they aren't telling me. They are pumping me with more IV fluids when I had hoped that the IV would come out. I'm left handed and despite my requests that's where the IV is. I'm bummed to not go home but I guess it's best I stay here.

*Sigh*

That's a bummer. It sucks they put your IV in your left hand, I'm also left-handed and they put the IV on my right hand.

Hopefully you will see the surgeon again today and he will let you know the reason.

Internist was in, he thought I was going home. But he checked and said my white blood cell count is slightly elevated so he thinks surgeon is bring extra cautious given we live about 2 hours from here.

That's a bummer, especially about the IV they asked when they put mine in.

All you can do is keep making hallway laps and hopefully tomorrow's bloodwork will let you go home, but it's probably better to be there if they are concerned, not all hospitals know a lot about bariatric patients. So you're better there where they can watch you till their sure.

You are definitely in the best place you can be, better to go home when all is good. Hopefully tomorrow!

Awww, that sucks. I hope today you get to go home. Recovering at home is so much more comfortable. ((Hugs))

Surgeon was in over an hour ago and asked if I wanted to go home. Said my bloodwork was better than yesterday but he was still waiting on the second set of labs. Because my husband is 2 hours away I've been asking about being released. Apparently there's something up with these labs so they have put a call in to the doctor. Hope to have an answer soon.

Just waiting for my husband to arrive. Should be here in a half hour or so. So excited to be going home. I think the scariest part is that I have felt so great all along so the worry that something could be wrong but I feel good...that was worrisome
