Gallbladder removed and I'm home

hello,

its a good thing my gallbladder was removed. Apparently it was double

in size. They had to put it in a bag and then yank the contents out. The area of the yanking hurts so miserably. Right now my incisions kill and so does my lower back. I have now had ulscers and gallstones. It's like I've gotten the whatever can go wrong curse lol. Hopefully this is the end of. Anesthesia messes you up too. Be forewarned! I had 5 incisions because they found and repaired 3 hernias. The pain is also resonating to my shoulders and I feel really tired and crummy still. most I feel the nurses were great at Humber River. Dr. huynh was my surgeon.

Glad to hear you are home. Was it just day surgery? How long is the recovery? I see a surgeon on a Monday for my gallbladder too.

Hello. It was supposed to be Day surgery but I drove myself to the hospital because my husband couldn't get the day off so one night for sure. But I was in so much pain that I asked dr, huynh for another night and he let me stay. I remember awaking from the surgery and moaning and saying " ow nurse. I'm in pain. I need pain meds." She gave me meds right away but I can tell you I had much more pain with this compared to RNY. RNY was a walk in the park compared to this. As dr huynh put it "this hurt more because I took something out." I am so fed up with surgeries and scopes and ulcers. I just want this behind me. Thanks everyone.

Thank you. I finally gave into taking the prescribed narcotics today because I refuse to be superwoman anymore lol.

Hi, I had RNY on August 27th 2017. On April 27th 2018 (6 month surgiversry) I was hospitalized for ulcers. June 12th I had my gallbladder removed. I do think I was having gallbladder attacks for a long time because of the lower right back pain I had been having. I feel really down and discouraged right now. If it weren't for this surgery I wouldn't be having all these problems right now. I must admit that I regret having this surgery. I'd rather be fat and have my health back and my system in tact than deal with this nightmare. Being skinny isn't so great. Sounds counterintuitive but I had no ailments prior to this surgery. Was just fat. I have so much disgusting skin on my body. Now with my gallbladder removed every time I eat something I feel horrible sharp pains in my lower back. My husband doesn't understand what I'm going through and it feels so depressing.

Sorry you're having such a difficult time. Do you have a support network you can tap into? Maybe the bariatric surgery support group?
