Hey guys,

I've read that most people can only eat 4 oz and feel full... I seem to be fine to eat 6 oz without issue. I've lost 50 lbs since surgery on July 24th, so I know it's working but is this bad? Should I limit myself to 4 oz even if I'm not full?

Thanks!

I would call your doctor or nutritionist to get their input first.

I don't see a big problem with 6oz as long as you are still losing weight and if 4oz will not satisfy your hunger then your body needs the extra. I'm assuming we are talking about meat? If you only ate 4 oz and were still hungry you will reach for snacks and other stuff to fill you up.. I say go for 6oz. Try maybe going for 5oz and see if that fills you?

I can't eat 4 oz of meat at a time but I can eat like 6 oz of chili or spaghetti sauce or soup. I do work out a lot so that might be where my hunger comes in? My average calories for the day are usually around 600.

You hit the nail on the head! If you are working out then you are burning calories. Also, if you are doing any form of weight training then the muscle that you are building is starting to burn protein quicker. I definitely would speak to the nutritionist about this. Is your 600 net after exercise? If it is not, then if you are eating 600 and then burning off let's say 500. You're body is only getting 100.

My 600 is all day. My nutritionist told me not to eat back my burned calories which to me seems crazy!!

Even if you go into a deficit of calories?

Wow! Had no idea.

You're tired because you're a little over 2-1/2 months out and pushing the exercise. Some surgeons will restrict "vigorous" exercise for 6 months. Are you keeping up with your supplements? Iron, B12, multi etc.?
