Essentials for surgery!

My surgery is October 29th, and I just had my pre-op appointment today. I am just wondering the things to bring with me for my stay. I have to travel about 4 hours, and we are staying in an AirBnB not too far from the hospital the first night, and my hubby is also sleeping there while I'm in the hospital. What was essential for you during your stay and what do you recommend that I bring, that maybe I haven't thought of.

Thanks!

Just some items off the top of my head:

slippers or flip flops

chapstick

iPad/phone/charger

magazines

I took my own lounge wear was more comfortable walking the halls in that

music/ear buds

toiletries - hair brush, tooth brush, tooth paste etc.

Don't over pack, you'll find you really don't need much while there. Take what you need for the Air BnB but leave it all there with your husband, only take the essentials to hospital with you.

Good luck.

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

I brought a change of clothes and a toothbrush and my phone and Ipad- did not touch anything until i was 30 minutes away from being discharged as i was sleeping or recovering from the anesthesia. The first 12 hours i literally couldn't stay away more than 20 minutes. That was just me though.

Extra long phone charger. Headphones/earphones. Slippers/birks to walk in. Chap stick. Dry mouth spray. Toothpaste/toothbrush.

Did not care about or really use anything else!

Add a face cloth and your own hand towel and toiletries of course. I had my sister bring me a fan because it was so hot I couldn't stand it.
