You got this one - well done... take it slow and everything will realign itself and start working again.

I'm glad things are improving and I'm really glad your mom came to stay with you. It always helps to have someone around to help when you are right out of hospital.

As for the bowel movement, get going with restoralax. Trust me, it is my saving grace. Colace is helpful too. All stuff you can get at Costco. Smooth move tea also helps.

Make it happen before you feel real icky. I went 8 days before I had my first bowel movement after surgery. If I had known about restoralax things would have been much different.

I still take a cap full EVERY MORNING. Sometimes I even have to supplement with Lactulose. Do whatever you need to do to get things moving. You will feel much better.

Drink, protein, walk, sip, restoralax. You go girl!

You can BUT...if you are not drinking lots (and I mean lots) of fluids then it will only make things worse.

The restoralax isn't going to work immediately. It will probably take a day to get things moving. You can take it more than once a day. I'd suggest two doses today.

And here's the thing, you need to monitor what's happening. Keep taking the restoralax to keep regular until things start to settle down.

You're in better shape than I was at this point.

Are you drinking your protein shakes?

Try a stool softener to ease matters a bit.
