I'm about 17 months post op. I swear to God my memory has gone kaput. I used to be soooo sharp before my surgery. I couldn't even remember my alarm code today. What is going on?!! Anyone experience this?

Lucile can you provide some sample menus and what you take for supplements.

Also can you post your latest blood work.

Hi there,

I don't have my actual report from my bloodwork. All I know is they didn't call me so I think everything's okay. How can I get a hold of that bloodwork? My sample menu is AWFUL food. Chips, protein shakes, smoothies, candy. I get all of my supplements in as prescribed.

I get my results online from LifeLabs. Call the lab where you get your bloodwork done and see if they offer that service. Reading your results online will also give you the reference range for normal values and you can see how close you are. You may need additional supplements if any of your values are low or near low. Many deficiencies can cause brainfog.

The foods that are derailing you are slider foods. If you don't make changes now, all of your hard work will be for nothing. Not being judgey, just concerned. Please join us on the what are you eating thread. It's a way for you to plan your meals and be accountable to yourself. We are here to give you support whenever you need it.

You are absolutely right. I am derailing myself because there is no damn answer other than I am derailing myself. I am up 10 pounds from my lowest of 161. I have to take accountability for my actions!!! Thank you for your kind answer. You are not being judgey. You are being truthful. I appreciate it.

my memory has been horrible for years, i've been anemic since my early teenage years. I now get iron infusions and the only time my memory gets a tiny bit better is when my iron comes up. You are likely anemic or close to. I get my blood work results online, please contact your lab and see if this is possible for you. Most labs have the option now, you either pay a fee yearly or they are offered to you free just have to sign up. i have dyna care and pay about $22 a year

Hello there,

Same thing happened to me, actually the alarm code is one of the first thing that really alarmed me and then my passwords for my computer, my brain would just go blank, it would take me hours to remember things.

then I found out my ferritin was a low 2!! my b12 was low in the 200's and my other vitamins as well.

took me a long time to level out and I am still struggling with my ferritin after years of infusions

check your vitamins and take care of it now

good luck!!
