What are the requirements to qualify for a panniculectomy under ohip in Ontario Canada

What matters most is that you have a doctor who is willing to do the paperwork. That's key. Few want to work with Ohip at all. Some will just fill out papers poorly because they don't really want to work with Ohip.

then you must MENTION rashes

Hi I know it's a minute since you posted but can you let me know if you got any closer to finding out about the surgery or getting the surgery? The worst for me is my belly button area.

referred Jan 2016 intake May 2016 left programme returned June 2017 final pre-sx class Oct 2017 surgeon appt Oct 2017

I was not a fast loser but who cares as long as you get there! I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!

I found a doctor who is assisting me with getting started. I submitted my doctor's referral to him to get the OHIP covered panniculectomy

Please keep me in the loop if you happen to find a doctor who will take you on. My nurse practitioner has sent through several referrals on my behalf but we still have not found someone who will even give me a consult. VERY frustrating when excess abdominal skin is causing problems as well as blocking further progress with better health and fitness.

Best of luck!

hello, I am having it done on August 7th. I was told by the doctor doing my surgery that it needs to cause problems with sores, rashes ect.. to be covered by OHIP. it took 4 months to get the answer from OHIP. my surgery was cancelled in June due to COVID so happy to be having it next week. good luck with your journey.

Oh I'm very happy to hear you are having the surgery soon, after waiting through the delays. Do you mind sharing what Dr. and hospital you have been dealing with? If you prefer to just send me a message privately, feel free.

Best of luck next week and please followup once you feel up to it.
