question!

SO has anyone had plastic surgery after your weight loss... i reamember it being said that ohip will also cover that?? i have my last apt with Dr HAgen and we will be disscussing that..but i was just wondering....is there some criteria that has to be met first???/ thankyou Kate

Katie, My understanding is that OHIP will cover the Panni (Panniectomy ?+/-) and breast reductions when you have medical history of rashes from the excess skin that do not respond to antibiotic and medicated creams and other conventional treatments. Other plastic surgery procedures are almost always self-pay, although some people have from time to time found plastic surgeons who got more than these two procedures covered by OHIP. Most plastic surgeons seem to do all of their work self-pay, so it is difficult to find a surgeon willing to play the OHIP game. David
