Google a recipe for sausage, peppers, onions and potato in slow cooker. Whatever comes up, you ad garlic to raw sausages and shallots for quick pan frying in olive oil/browning the onions, sausages. I use 3 shallots sliced thinly and 5-6 Italian pork sausages, with 4 garlic cloves. Toss into crockpot with package of baby new potatoes, skins on, find baby Yukon yellows have great flavour (1-2 lbs). Instead of broth I use dry white wine ( alcohol cooks off, leaving fab flavor) and always double what recipe asks for. In this case might triple as adding more sliced peppers ( multicolored red, yellow and orange), and more red tomatoes. Cook on slow for 8-10 hours, ad more wine if needed to avoid bottom burning...If you want a sauced version, toss in a jar of spaghetti sauce at outset, you may not need the extra wine. Use white wine or red, red will stain your potatoes and sausage, but if making the tomato sauce version, doesn't matter.
