Can someone please explain to me why do you get a toilet seat when having a thigh lift? Is it a cushioned one or something? Does it hurt when you sit on a regular one? I feel stupid asking  but confused about that one. I want to be as ready as I can be for this surgery.

They certainly aren't soft, but for me I found it difficult to sit and the 5-1/2 in riser really helped.  I also liked the fact that mine had arm handles that allowed me to use my arms to help me sit and get up rather than using my legs.

Thanks for that. It makes sense. Is there anything else I should consider buying to help  make things easier with my recovery?

You absolutely MUST buy a Freshette.  It's a female urine director that you use standing up so the only time you really have to sit is for BMs.  They're only about $15 and I've only seen them online.  Mine was a life saver.  I bought the medical one.  It has a nice long extension that you can cut for your own comfort distance. Hi, No it's not cushioned, the reason its wonderful is cuz it's higher and u don't have to be low, which pulls on the incisions. I used mine both times, I had 2 groin thigh lifts. It worked wonders. Stacie

Hi Stacie,        Why did you have 2 groin thigh lifts? How was your experience? How long did it take you to walk normal? Were you in a lot of pain?

Hi, Well, I had ALOT of work done at once. And i wasn't completely happy with the result, and my doc said he could lift more than he did. I didn't have a lot to begin with and I didn't want to be cut down the leg, since I don't have skin there. i've always had small legs and now since I lost the weight, they are tiny. So, I had my thighs revised. Now, they are wonderful. The pain isn't as bad as everyone says. Now, this is my opinion. I think it depends on the person. I have a high tolerance for pain. I was able to walk normal the same day of surgery. Sitting was tough though. Very soar. That's y i reccommend to everyone getting a high toilet seat. It really comes in handy. I had my revision which consisted of repeating the thigh lift, my mons lifted more, couple dog ears fixed, some lypo on my lower back, and my left implant replaced , I had this done on a Thurs. out patient and went back to work full time on Monday morning. Now, I have to say getting up and down from my chair at my desk, did aggrievate my thighs, meaning made them very soar but other than that I was fine. When are u having your thighs done? Are u having down the legs or only in the groin area?  stacie

Hi Stacie,         I am having my thighs done July 16th. Only groin cut. The doctor says I dont need the incision down the leg. I am very concerned about my calfs tho because they are so big and I think I will look like some freak that is disconfigured. But, none the less there is too much skin between the legs to let it go. I also tolerate pain very good. I hardly took any of my pain meds the doctor gave me for the tummy tuck and arms and like you I was walking around the same day of surgery and doing my chores a couple days later believe it or not. I want to be extra careful with the thighs tho. That is why I am asking so many questions.  Helen

Hi Stacie, Do you have photos of your thigh lift?  I had the groin thigh lift 2 months ago, and I'm really interested in looking at other people's results to get an idea of what I might expect in terms of healing, etc.
