From what I read at least now I know that they aren't real worms, just tissue and blood but I'm glad I read about them because I think I would have been really freaking out to see them and never heard of them.
Makes me wonder what else I might experience that I haven't stumbled across the information for just yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I asked my surgeon why he wasn't told, she didn't know but said it was in the instructions. LOL That's been her answer for just about everything. Apparently I didn't read them well enough.
OMG Tracy....and everyone else I freaked out!!!
I'm so sorry for the Post from Hell!! I didn't mean to make anyone nervous about their surgeries. Drain worms are exactly as others have described...just long, wormy looking tissue that gets inside your tubes and bulbs. They are CERTAINLY not real worms.
My sincerest apologizes to everyone I grossed out!
Hugs!!

This is the funniest post I've ever seen! I had a lower body lift on 3/20 and still have 2 drains (2 removed on Monday). I read your post yesterday and my muscles are still very sore if I laugh or cough, so I tried to contain myself. This morning I woke up with a BIG giant drain worm in one of my tubes. I asked my husband to "milk" it and told him about your post yesterday. I had to re-read it to him because now I call these little "suckers" by name. Today Charlie was milked out of the drain and flushed down the toilet. I almost could see him moving in the toilet just before he was flushed down to the sewer.
Thanks for the laugh. I know you were serious, but after you have surgery and see these little slimy things come out of your body, you'll probably need a good laugh.
All the best!
