I need to ask a silly question. I will have mons lift/lipo on September 1.  Should I shave it by myself?( Sorry to ask) I asked my PS but he told me do not because I can get infection, but I cannot imagine someone will do it? What did you do? Thank you. Alla

I think they are concerned if you shave right before surgery...it can cuase nicks or small cuts and that's where the infection scare comes into play. If you shaved now you would only have a small amount of regrowth and I think you'd be fine.

no DO NOT SHAVE!!!!

The OR nurse will shave the area the incisions will be at and will have it covered with betadine so there will be no infections during the surgery.  They have to shave even if you are clean down there it is a part of surgical procedures.

A nurse shaved me with a small electric razor right before my surgery. I would not risk it if I were you.

Wow, what a great question...I don't think it is silly at all.  I never even thought of this and I am getting a tummy tuck next month and breast lift.  I had intentions to shave myself...had it on my "to do" list before surgery.  I will definitely not do it now...never thought about an infection.  Thanks for asking the question.

Take care and good luck on Sept 1st.

Linda

I am always shaved so it was never an issue for me. They never shaved any part of me for my procedures.
