For those who have had scar revision

How was the pain and recovery?
My scar from sternum to bikini line will be excised and I will have a drain there and be back in my binder. The inguinal hernia will be repaired as well. All of this with my Breast Lift.
In some ways I think it might be a harder recovery than the original TT.
Experiences or thoughts!

I had my vertical incision revised with my breast lift.  Not that it helped...the keloid scar is back just the same.

I will say that it didn't hurt NEARLY as much as my original TT.

Erika,
Thank you for your reply.
My vertical is16cm long (I just measured it) and different thicknesses and it hurts at the top at times and itches from within. And where the gangrene was just needs a few stitches.
I hope it heals better than the way it is now. Maybe because I will be having the breast lift at the same time he can do something and my body will behave spectacularly. He is also a Burn Specialist in a major hospital and lectures so deals a lot with scarring issues.

My surgeon was hopeful too - he thought maybe it was something with my body and the reaction to the type of suture material they used.  Ask about using different suture material in case that was your issue.

For me - I think my body just heals this way sometimes.  Some of my incisions (like my breasts) are great.  Under my armpits are flat and almost invisible.  Not wide at all.  My lower TT incision is glorious.  BUT my belly button and the part of my arm incisions near my elbows is bad.  Even with revision - just as bad.

What can you do?  It looked horrible before....and as time goes by, it is lightening and flattening somewhat.  I'm hopeful that in a few years it will also be un-noticable...

Someday, some guy in the morgue is going to be examing my corpse and wonder what the hell went on with my skinny, dead body.  lol

I hope I will be fortunate with a better outcome than what I have now in appearance and sensation of itchiness and pain!'
I definitely appreciate that Dr. Haik knows I read Internet but that I also trust him such that he know to be upfront with me.
My main concern is that I will be in public hospital which means I do not choose my surgeon although I have a very strong sense that he will be the PS covering my surgery.
Now I am waiting on a call back from the Plastics Department when to come in. I am concerned how long of an operation this will be with the Breadt Lift, Scar Revision and Hernia Repair.
Thank you Erika,
Mikimi
