I am closing up SO well....except right above my butt crack. Dr says today he is unsure if it is going to open there or not, we just have to wait and see....I have a chance of it still closing. Says most likely due to my swelling that it pulled apart the sutures. Plus I think also because for the 1st week I slept exclusively on my back and the area was probably being irritated constantly.

Anyone go through this....having a diffculty with it closing in that area? If so...any reommendations to make sure it closes properly?

In the meantime, prayers are appreciated! :)

My surgeon actually didn't make the scar-line meet in the back. It ends on either side right above my butt crack. I am assuming this was to alleviate the pressure and tension on the incision. I had no issues with opening up.

Maybe you can try sleeping on your side some while it heals. I would say to definitely try to keep from adding any extra tension on that area. Good luck!!

Mine opened up at the 4 week mark right above the crack. It was less than the size of a dime (I have a picture on my plastics album). It closed on it's own in 2 weeks, just like my surgeon said it would. If it had gotten any wider, he was going to staple on eaither side of it so it wouldn't get any wider. I used xeroform dressing on it.

Whats your password so I can see it?

Did you continue sleepin on your back or did you find another way to lay? My arm lift makes my side very hard.

I continued to sleep on my back with a fluffy pillow under my butt. And I was extra careful getting in and out of bed until it healed. I was paranoid I was going to unravel all the way around...lol!!
