gurgling noises... gas? something else?

I have these weird sensations like there's gas or something in my body-- it gets tight in my stomach, and then makes audible noise and feels like it's bubbling/moving in my body. It's pretty bizarre. I am more gassy lately, and tend to fart way more than is ususual, but when my tummy is making those noises and things move around doesn't happen at the same time as farting. Anyone experience these sensations? is it just gas? does it go away? why am I so much gassier than usual?
