Good weight for optimal appearance LBL?

Any recommendations on a good weight to get down to before having a cir. LBL done? I'm 5'4.4". I suspect there is at least 15 pounds of excess skin and fat around my midsection from 5 pregnancies (including twins) and weight gain and loss. I have regained some weight since I had plateaued at 166#, but working hard to reverse the trend.

You can take pics from the front, side, back, & side and send to Dr Sauceda at [email protected]  He's very honest if he feels that you will get better results taking more weight off.  You can do closeups of specific areas.  You may have to reduce the resolution to make it easier to send through email.

I stopped at 140 and I'm 5'1" and never could budge the scale, I'd been weight stable for 2 yrs when I had my LBL, BL, arms and small thigh lift 2 yrs ago.

I kept getting conflicting advice- wls dr wanted me to lose more, hubby, friends thought I was too skinny. Went to 3 plastic surgeons- free consults..all told me maintain what I am and they will do the rest. I was told I would lose at least 10 lbs from all of them.(One told me more like 16 lbs) I am muscular but only 5ft 2, 145 lbs, size 6 jeans (even with rolls of extra skin), size 10 shirts/dresses/coats. All told me if I lose more, I would look "emaciated"- btw all took nude photos of me from all angles so they really saw everything.(A crazy experience itself- way passed embarassing!)So I suggest, get some free plastic surgery consults from Dr who specialize in massive weight loss patients- they really know. ALL told me- very important to maintain the weight I get surgery at. They may even tell you go back to 166 and maintain that

Thanks for all the suggestions! I wish I could have a consult but I'm in Alaska and 360 miles from a doc that may be able to do it. I looked at Dr.S's website and was very pleased with his reasonable prices. The only thing was it looked like his incisions for LBL are a lot higher than Dr. Katzen's are.

I'll be taking pictures to send to Dr. S just to see what his ideas are.

Thanks!
Heidi

I can wear bikini bottoms with my LBL.  My top is 38D so I do need a bit more coverage than the little bikini tops.

I had my LBL in November.  I don't think there is a magic number to get to, but you want to be at a stable weight for a while.  I was 165 ish when I had my surgery and am still around that, although I'm still pretty swollen in the lower abdominal area.  I was a size 10/12 skinny jean before, now I'm an 8.  My weight was stable for 3 years before my surgery.
