Hi ,

I will have arm lift and side boobs removal on April 11.

My PS, Dr Capella, will not use any compressions on my arms.

I will have bandages for 48 hours and then nothing to cover insisions.

I am a little worried about this.

I remember with my tummy tuck i had compression garment for 6 month.

please tell me I will be ok with my arms?

I am very nervous, ready to even cancel my surgery.

Thank you.

Alla

All you have to say is Dr. Capella, and i would not question his techniques. lol  His before and afters are the BEST i have ever seen.

Although my surgeon uses compression after arm lifts, I have heard of many surgeons who do not.

Dr Capella has done 100s of arm lifts- isn't that the reason you chose him in the first place?  Let me get this right, you are thinking of canceling your surgery because someone on the internet suggests that he doesn't know what he is doing because he does not use compression garments?

Hi I'm using Dr Capella too and I didn't know he didn't use compression. I've seen great afters so I wouldn't worry about it but I wouldn't hesitate to question any doctor. They are not Gods and are not perfect. Would you question a mechanic, a contractor, a housekeeper about their technique? OF COURSE! Drs are no different.

Hi Alla:

I have not had arm surgery but I have had anchor cut tummy tuck surgery and I did not use compression not one day and had excellent results.  I am having the backside of the LBL done on April 18th and will not have compression for the first two weeks after that surgery.  I trust my surgeon and he has produce excellent results.  I did not have any wound healing or separation of any tissues and very little swelling.  Some surgeons are pro compression and some are not.  Don't worry you just got a little bit of nerves going on.  You will do great and will have awesome arms in the summer.  Good luck!

I had a TT and an arm lift on March 26th. My doc compressed my arms with ace bandadges. The day after surgery my arms and particularly my hands were so swollen I could barely close my fingers. My drain on the right side was also not working when was husband stripped it. So my doc had me come in.....took one look at my hands and said....you are very sensitive to compression. He then quickly removed the ace bandadges and said no more arm compressioin for me. I'm going in tomorrow to see if the drains are ready to come out. My arms and hands have not been swollen at all since the ace bandadges came off. I've hardly had anything at all coming out of my arm drains......not even close to half an ounce a day......and now today....just a few drops.

Good luck!!!

Kathy
