I know DCgirl started working from home the first week after surgery, but that is different than sitting at a desk. While that sounds easy, it's the sitting part that would be hard.

I remember waking up 2 weeks after surgery on a monday and feeling a new level of energy, I had turned a corner. I was scheduled to fly cross country that Friday for my nephew's wedding and I was like "I can do this" In 20/20 hindsight that was crazy. Hahaha, and it set me back...but I did it and was utterly exhausted. If you are having surgery on Monday maybe go for 2 1/2 weeks and have a short week? Like go back on Wednesday or Thursday...that way you can ease into it and see how you do.

I ended up filing FMLA for 4 full weeks off. I could extend if I needed it, but I have enough paid time to cover that if I want. So I'll have surgery on 1/29 and hopefully return to work on 2/26.
