Hello!!!!

I just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant. I had gastric bypass Nov 28, 2011. So its been about a year and a half. My due date is Jan 2, 2014 (maybe a new years baby)

I am looking into gynos now but I was wondering if there was anything in particular I should look for or ask? I dont think haveing WLS makes you high risk but I am not sure...anyone due around the same time?

I have no idea what I am doing! lol.

Sidenote...I have been with my fiance for 4 1/2 years. We were getting married May 2014 but I guess we have to push that up.

I'm pregnant as well with my first, due Dec 25.  I had RNY in August of 2011, so our situations are similar.  I, too, have no idea what I'm doing, lol.  But I know I'm high risk, as I'll be 40 next month.

My PCP recommended a practice that has two docs that she felt were very competent.  I go for my first appointment on Thursday.

I don't feel pregnant  so I'm not paranoid at all.  More like disbelief that this is actually happening.  I wish I had some morning sickness so that I felt like this pregnancy was real.

My whole life I struggled with PCOS and infertility issues, as well as some physical trauma as a kid and I never thought I'd be capable of becoming pregnant.  It is all so surreal right now.

Congrats to you both!  First, when looking for an OBGYN, just inquire if they have dealt with gastric patients before.  Most have and know what extra things to look out for, making sure Vit D and iron are good, thyroid, etc.  But to be honest other than the sugar test (which with both my post WLS I did not do); you really just run a normal pregnancy.   Good luck to you and have an enjoyable pregnancy!  Stacey

Hi Im Jackie,

Im 18 weeks pregnant, after 1 1/2  years post op. I have a question, what have you fealt around the incisions of

your surgery? I mean while its stretching? Do you feel any discomfort? Im a little panic everytime I feel a bit of pain

since Ive had a lot of pelvic pain but gyn says its normal. Especially since Im carrying 2 (twins). I would love to know

how are you feeling these changes. I am assuming its your first time pregnant like me.

you can reach me by phone if u like. 718-419-0653. NYC
