How to use canned spinach ?

I feel silly asking this question but I'm not much of a cook. I have several cans of spinach that my husband bought because it was on sale but I don't know what to do with it. I have seen recipes that call for frozen spinach but nothing that calls for canned. Can I use the canned instead of the frozen? Should I drain off the liquid? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can use canned in place of frozen, but drain it very well, then rinse it too and drain again. You can use it in any recipe that cooks the spinach together with other ingredients - such as cheese / garlic / spinach stuffed chicken or spinach / cheese crustless quiche. The recipe will taste somewhat different, and don't use any added salt as the canned spinach is generally already salted pretty heavily. Good luck - Mom Bear

Thank you so very much for your reply. Now I've got to go find myself a recipe to try this weekend!
