Hi - my name is Terri and I am new to this group. Just wanted to send a shout out and say that I have had a lapband for 4 years, but sadly undergoing revision to remove my band and have gastric bypass. My surgery is scheduled for August 13. I am excited but also VERY scared of life after bypass. I lost 130 lbs within two years with my first band, the little 4cc, and in 2011, had this band replaced with the larger 11cc. I then began gaining weight, have since gained back 60 lbs and developed severe acid reflux. After about 18 months of this, my surgeon recommended removal. I am looking forward to learning from all of you and also to share my early experiences as I progress thru this journey.

Thank You!! I don't like the thought of another surgery, but I can't gain all this weight back and struggle with obesity the rest of my life.

Lap Band on 02/25/09

Hi Terri! I had a band for 4 years. I now have a sleeve and loving it. I had the 10cc lap band.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Welcome. I had the band for almost 5 years. I started with the Lapband the largest one they make I forget I think 14cc. Then they replaced it with the Realize Band. Now I have the sleeve I love the sleeve, it is not perfect but I am down 33 pounds after being stalled for over 3 years with my band.
