I was sleeved 2/14/2012 I was having complications but thought it was due to stress. I have started the process of getting a revision. I have serve heartburn and GERD. I had a emptying study that was normal and Upper GI that states I have Free and spontaneous

gastroesophageal reflux to the level of the thoracic inlet with slow clearance shown. (I have no idea what that means). I'm scheduled for a cardio elevations next week and to speak with my surgeon latter this week. How long was the wait for insurance approval? My insurance requirement is that it's medically necessary that's all they told that it needs to be to be approve.

RNy, that will help with the GERD

or

DS, you have the first have of it with the sleeve but if you are having GERD issues with it now, chances are good you will still have issues post op.

If you are interested you can read my whole ordeal of having WLS under "one woman's story of WLS; from good to bad and back to good"

in short and as relates to you, I also developed horrible GERD 7 years after my sleeve, I had gained substantial weight back. Since, I have had one horrible revision and one successful one and the GERD is gone. I certainly hope the best for you. GERD is just absolutely miserable

Where can I find your story?

I am revising from sleeve ('09) to bypass because of GERD on Wednesday.

Thanks!

I am 8 days out from a revision from band to bypass because of GERD. I know it's early, still, but I already feel tremendous relief! Good luck!
