Red cheeks

I always thought my red cheeks were a result of me being hot and/or overweight.  They're not red always, and it's not rosacea.  If you had red cheeks typically before surgery, does it go away once you lose alot?  Am wondering if this is a skin condition, just me, or something related to being fat. The red tends to go from my cheeks down under my chin/neck.

I think it has to do with the blood vessels being very close to the skin.  I know my dad has been like that for years, we always thought he was gonna have a heart attack or something, but the dr said it had something to do with the blodd vessles and it wasnt dangerous.
I have rosacea, and if you are talking about the "blushing" I see in your pic, yeah, thats not rosacea, plus rosacea hurts.  If it's bothering you (even if it's just bothering you mentally) I would talk to the dr about it, ya never know, it cant hurt.

I was also hoping for less redness in the face.  Unfortunately, even after 116 pounds lost,  I'm still red.   Just, no longer beat red and sweaty.   The redness does run in the family and so I'm thinking that I'm stuck with it.   If you find out anything, please let me know.

Unfortunately my got worse... All the blood thinners they gave me (3 surgeries in one year 2008), and the blood vessels got thinner and started breaking out

At the end I was diagnosed with rosecea.

I bought a Vit K cream that I use all the time and that made a huge improvements for me.
Also I avoid very hot baths, drinks, and things that made me blush (very spicy food, etc).

Broken capillaries what I had initially.  And I will have some of them until I die... the rest - I am taking care off... Good sunscreen is a must.

Losing weight - will help you from getting hot all the time...that may reduce the redness.

I use a redness reducing regiman from Clinique, you can get the sample sizes, which I use for about 3-5 months, for $45.00, it took several weeks, but it has  made a huge difference in my redness, but I DO have rosacea, but it may be worth a try for you.  FYI, any type of green pigmented make up will help reduce the look of redness, but I dont like wearing face makeup, so I just use the cleansers and lotions.

I don't like wearing face makeup either, infact I rarely do, except to cover the occaisional pimple. Maybe I'll check out Clinique if they have redness reducing cleanser and moisturizer though. Thanks!

My husband has rosacea and he's getting really self conscious about it lately.  Might look into laser treatments. Its got to be hard for men, can't cover with makeup like women.

Make up will actually make it look worse, at least in my opinion it does.  I would suggest trying the Clinque, I love it.  Plus they always have freebies with a purchase!

My dermatologist recommends Eucerin Redness Relief.  Since i'm allergic to almost any soap or cream on my face, it's a real relief!  It contains something that comes from the licorish herb.  A tad pricey from $10 to $15 dollars from the drug store.

I've done the laser treatment thing, it does make a huge difference.  A tad pricey, but I paid mine in installments.  I was diagnosed with rosacea before wls, and losing weight did not make the redness go away at all.
