Food Coma?

This happens to me too.  Some evenings after dinner I just sleep in my chair until bedtime.  Usually I wake up with the chills or restless legs and head to bed.  I couldn't figure it out either.  I know it's harder for me to eat after noon so I was thinking that digestion must be taking my energy up.  Not sure, but the baby analogy makes sense to me. 

I'm two years post-op....carbs do it to me every time.  Bread, pasta, rice, etc. 

But, nothing compares with sugar.  Sugar is like a sleeping pill for me. 

 

I'm not sure if this would make a difference or not, but I was told to eat protein first.  Maybe instead of eating the rice or vegetable first you could eat the protein first.  It won't hurt to try!

carbs = sleeping pill for me..

All the time.

It is a blood sugar reaction.  Shoots up, then waaaaaay down.

Carbs knock me out, i feel like ive taken a sleeping pill after i eat carbs.

But my blood sugar is 100 yet I'm out cold.

Very limiting.

Have figured out what to eat or not eat.

I think amount of food matters too.

Ugh. This is me and I don't know what to do.

Immediate sleeping pill.

I hope you are eating them...you need them to function.
