I thought this would make me dump and was afraid to drink it. But while in the ER this past weekend they gave it to me. Since then, it's all I want to drink. I don't dump on it since I only drink about 2 ounces at a time. But I am worried that I may not need to be drinking apple juice.
Any thoughts on this please?

This early out, and especially in small amounts, it's probably fine. In general, drinking our calories is not a good idea. Liquids won't keep you feeling full for long and you can get a lot of calories in that way. Protein shakes are kind of an exception because they have protein we need, but some people recommend getting protein from food instead of shakes as soon as you possibly can so you're not drinking calories. The bottom line is, if it doesn't make you dump and you don't mind the calories from it, go for it. If you don't want the extra calories, drink something else.

On my plan, it was allowed. However, my doctor wanted me to dilute it. Of course I agree with the other posters that it is an easy way to rack up calories, so as you find more drink options that work for you, I'd shy away from the fruit juice. Once I cut out fruit juice (probably around week 3 or 4) I noticed a significant increase in my weight loss. Gold peak unsweetened iced tea has been a miracle for me. I add lemon and equal and I love it.

My NUT says no juice ever - it is alot of unnecessary calories and lots of sugar even though natural. I would rather eat an apple. If you want some type of juice, get the little packets that you add to your water bottle and they are sugar free - they come in lots of flavors. I like the diet snapple fruit punch.
Walmart has a sugar free crystal type apple juice mix GREAT VALUE (their brand) this might be a good option for you :)
Nothing - tastes as good as it feels -to be at my ideal weight :)

My surgeon actually suggested diluted NSA apple juice for the first few weeks post-op to help get enough calories in, but discourages routinely drinking significant amounts of any kind of fruit juice after that because of the calories involved (we need to get our calories from protein). Drinking a small amount of NSA juice occasionally is ok, however. Jus****ch the calorie content.
