SF candy makes me sick all the time. So if I crave candy I have ONE bite size regular candy and then I'm good for weeks! I get those small ones like the peanut butter cups or snickers. I usually have 1/2 a small piece. I'm actually pretty impressed with my control. I guess because I've seen and heard that people have really bad dumping episodes. So not for me! Now my sweet cravings are more for sf vanilla pudding with protien.

You have to watch out for those "sugar free" candies.  They are not always good for you just because they don't contain table sugar.  Also, some of them will cause awful gas and/or diarrea.

Many post ops have issues with sugar alcohols, commonly used in SF items.  Not sure you can get candy with no sugar alcohols. BUT, you could add Stevia or Fruit Sweetness (on Amazon--a powdered sweetener made from a Chinese fruit) or LoHan, the liquid version of Fruit Sweetness to many foods.  I add Stevia to fresh berries, like strawberries.  Any of these can be used in coffee or tea also.  DAVE

were you told to stay away from sugar free candy?? Are you concerned about the sugar free alcohols.  If you just eat one or two pieces you should be okay.

I always look at the sugar free candy alcohols and divide by 2.  If it is less than 6 then I can eat the candy occasionally.  If not I stay away from it.

I dump on sugar alcohols, high sugar, carbs, fried food so I am very careful with what I eat.
