lactose intolerance of protein powder
I can't recommend a good soy shake, however if you're not allergic to egg proteins, Jay Robb makes a very tasty shake based around egg white proteins. His protein ain't cheap, but it is some of the best I've ever tasted. Hope this helps.

I have not tried any soy shakes. You know whey isolate is lactose free, right? Whey concentrate has lactose but not isolate.

It seems like different people respond differently to whey isolate - some have no problems, some do. Even though it's lactose-free, I seem to get symptoms from it so I take lactaid tabs with each protein dose.
I've seen soy protein at Whole Foods but have so much stocked in other types that I need to use them up before I can even try the soy!
