Approved & Got A Date - So Happy/Anxious!!

I found out today that my insurance company has approved my RNY & my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4th!!  I am so happy & excited, but yet very anxious & nervous. 

Any tips on how to prepare & get through the next 5 weeks?

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!!! Be informed is the best advise you can get. This board has a wealth of information. Use it to your advantage! Surgery day will be here before you know it. The time will fly by!

Today is my surgery day.  Two weeks ago is when I found out Id be having surgery today.  It goes so fast.  I dont know if I have any tips.  Honestly, I ate my favorite meals while I still could.  Thats probably bad but its not like I binged I just ate my favs. 

Just listen to what your docs office says and be on here everyday, it helps to read everyones journey.  :)

Your waiting time will go so fast!  I prepared by trying out different protein drinks (just samples), trying to learn to eat w/o drinking (still hard), eating less but then again....eating all the foods that I either won't ever be able to eat or eating my favorite things! 

Good Luck   I had my surgery on Feb 15, 11.  I found stuff to keep me busy,   The bariatric program i was on we had to do optifast which was a great start to losing weight and it help to learn what to expect after the surgery food wise.
