Question for 1 year plus out...
At almost 4 years out, I don't remember exactly how many there were during the first year, but there were several... the ones I remember are the one at 3 weeks post op (because it was SO soon after surgery) and the one at around 8-9 months out because it was about 9 weeks long.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Ok, I feel better after reading your post Lora. I just went through a 6-7 week stall and I am 8 mths out so this could just be common. I also did the 3-4 week post stall and that one freaked me out more than this one and it was short in comparison. I hear people say all the time though that you are probably losing inches during these stalls and I can say this was definitely true for me during this 6-7 week stall because my clothes did get loser.
To be honest I didn't weigh myself during the first year. I read way too many posts from people freaking out about their weight loss...not losing quickly enough, stalling etc. I threw my scale away and only weighed at doctor appointments.
I now have a scale in the house because I am at my goal weight and it is important for me to weigh and make sure I am not gaining.
I am glad I didn't allow a scale obsession to rule me.

of the first eight weeks, five were stalls
Of the remaining 44 weeks, 22 were stalls
2 weeks of losing followed by one week of not losing followed by one week of gaining over and over and over again
it was my body's natural rhythm

Depends on how you define "stall." I would say just one - I stalled my entire sixth month out. But I had a few days or even a week or two here and there when I did not lose, but I don't count those short periods as stalls. That's just normal weight loss.
