Back from all of my pre-admit appointments

Surgery is scheduled for Monday morning at 7am. Need to be at the hospital for 5am. Saw the anestheologist, hospitalist, admit nurse and doctor. Had to have a couple of labs repeated because there were over 30 days old.

This has been a busy week for me.. which has been good. Had to go to New York on a business trip and nonstop since.

I did question to doc about a bowel pre and clear liquids the day before surgery. He doesn't require any of it. He did take extra time to warn me that I might be a bit lactose intolerant after surgery ... based on his previous experience. And the best part... I have lost 10 pounds over the last few weeks by just making much healthier choices.

Hospital also called to collect their copay... but all in all, i am blessed. So far my only out of pocket expense for this surgery has been $250 and the program coordinator estimated that the maximum would be $1750.

I need to get some new books.. at least download a couple. Any suggestions for good fiction?

That is great! Good luck to you.

I had stacks of magazines waiting for me after surgery. I honestly couldn't concentrate much on reading, though. Not sure why because I normally devour books.

Carolyn,

Best of luck to you. I had hoped we would do this on the same day but it is not to be for me. I've had some minor setbacks (I hope they turn out to be minor!) so my RNY surgery is being rescheduled. On Early next week, I'll have my second stress test to rule out heart issues. My EKG was abnormal and the first doc *****ad it told me I had a heart attack and there was heart damage. The cardiologist I saw today said it was abnormal but I have not had a heart attack. So, the doctor is holding Thursday 4/28 for me in hopes I get cleared. Stay tuned but I did want to tell you GOOD LUCK and I'll pray for no complications and lots of weight loss. I'll say a prayer for you on Monday morning. Glad you are first thing - less time to worry!
