I ate a lot of refried beans (usually mixed with greek yogurt to make them more liquidy and easier to get down), greek yogurt, and ricotta cheese topped with marinara sauce. Sometimes I'd add a sprinkle of cheddar cheese on top of things just for a bit more flavor.

I am finishing my puree on tuesday lol but I make a turkey chilli very high in protein and good for you, greek yoghurt is great mix apple sauce in it, and I make egg muffins by scrambling egg, peppers and onions with some philly herb cream cheese and bake them in the oven, I eat one of those for breaky also yummy everything (onions, pepers, cheese) is all pureed and cooked before putting it in the eggs, I have had no issues at all getting any of this in so good luck

I puree the food with my mouth by chewing 30 times till it is mush.  So the items I eat now are eggs, hard boiled eggs, (make egg salad with miracle whip), all flavors of cheeses, ham slices, turkey, chicken (canned or baked), pork (baked),  canned chicken, all in 2 oz. portions.  I basically eat protein for my meals. I haven't added fruit or vegetables but it is on my list, I figure the more protein this early out the better, but I need to add them in slowly so I can reduce my calories and fat intake.  No raw vegetables yet.  I occasionally have some mashed potatoes with my meats to soften them up.  I have been able to have saltines too and like to have a few for a bit of crunch, they melt in your mouth.  I have had a half of a baked potato and add sr. cream and butter.

I am SUPER confused about my eating plan. I'll come home on a full liquid stage, but my full liquids include: Cream of Wheat or Rice, SF pudding, SF applesauce, SF felatin, SF smooth yogurt, SF popsicles, SF custard, low-fat milk, strained cream soups, and broth.

Then for my pureed stage, I get to add small curd cottage cheese, cooked & pureed beets, carrots, pumpkin, and squash, blended cream soups, pureed poultry, lamb, veal, lentles, and nonfat refried beans, scrambled egg whites, mashed potatoes (but I thought we weren't supposed to have carbs).

Then stage 4 is soft, solid foods or ground foods. that's when I can add cooked fruit without skin or seeds, steamed or poached fish, canned mashed chicken, salmon, or tuna, soft low-fat cheeses, thinly sliced fat free turkey or chicken lunh meat, finely ground pureed poultry, lamb, veal (stage 3 baby food), scrambled, soft cooked, or poached egg whites, mashed potatoes without skin or instant potatoes, salt-free saltine crackers, and soups all flavors (except tomato) blended or cut up into small pieces.

Stage 5 is called beyond stage 4. LOL It includes, moist meats with no crisp edges, soft fresh fruits (with no skins or seeds) like molons, bananas, ripe pears, and peaches. steamed veggies, soft green leafy veggies, toasted whole grain breads, non sweetened whole grain cold cereals.

After 10 weeks I should be able to eat strawberries, apples, onions, bell peppers, and start moving towards a "regular diet".

Luella M, I ate and am still eating a lot of baby food in addition to 3 protein shakes a day. Partly b/c I've had a lot of trouble with food getting stuck and partly not wanting to "press my luck."
