I think it is very common to have a hard time getting  it all in.  Just do the best you can and it will get easier as time goes on.

I am 6 weeks post op and I STILL have trouble getting it all in. I have recently started eating protein bars which helps out a lot. I have tried so many different protein shakes and drinks and have yet to find one I like.

It was like 3 or 4 MONTHS before I could reliably get all my protein & water in...yes, it is normal.

It took me WEEKS to get in enough water and protein.  Each day I tried and knowing I gave everything I had.  There were a time or two that I actually didn't go to bed up after midnight knowing my water intake was so low (and I felt bad) so I could prevent dehydration.

Keep trying....a little more everyday.....it definitely takes time getting where you need to be.

Aww honey, yes. that is a battle that probably all have after surgery. I am 5 weeks out and still have a problem because I stay full so long. it will get better, start as early in the morning as you can with your protein. two shakes a day with 8 oz. skim milk and 1.5 scoops should get you your protein for the day. so if you start early, sip, sip until you can get it down. might take you an hour, but that's ok. then sip water througout the day and have another shake in the evening. at least you will have your protein for the day (which also counts towards your fluid intake). it will get better.
