I WAS APPROVED!!!!

After all the frustration of denied because of a poundish, file an appeal to be denied, and then submit a new form once I gained the poundish I was approved!!!

Now I am waiting to hear on my surgery date!!! Should know by end of day!!!!!!!!!

I just got approved yesterday and got my date today!!!

WOOHOO!!

Isn't it worth it now.. all those hoops we had to jump through? To know all those hard moments are over?

YES!!! I am sooo thankful that I will be able to lose the weight and lessen my joint pain, play with my kids, and not feel ackward!!!

Tricare is actually easy, IF you are at least 100 lbs overweight.

My papers were submitted on a Thursday and got my approval phone call on Wednesday the next week, but it only took that long because Friday was a holiday and they had the wrong phone number for me when they tried to call on Monday. And now it's one week later and Sugery is tomorrow!

FYI- Tricare's criteria has now changed and they use your BMI score.  This is very recent (effective March 15, I believe)

BMI over 40 or BMI over 35 with a co-morbid condition

TriCare is even easier if you having your surgery done at MTF =)  Congrats!!

I have Tricare Prime............so I am hoping for a quick approval too!!  My surgeon said they are the best to deal with!!

My reply should have gone under the advice to have your surgery at an MTF. Sorry it got bumped somehow.

But congratulations!! This is the best decision I ever made for myself. And even though I'm not NEAR my goal weight, I ALREADY feel so much better about myself, and I get bumps of encouragement EVERY day. I feel like a person again, I'm HEALTHY, my self esteem is coming back, and I'm no longer afraid of cameras!! BRING 'EM ON! I'm very happy for you and hope your date is SOON!!
