Hospital called to do a 2 week "check in".
So I get a call from my hospital today to see how I am doing, or rather to "see how fabulous you are feeling now that you are two weeks out". I am not feeling fabulous. I am still on pain killers. Every day except one since April 20th. I have some days that are better than others, like yesterday, so as a mom of three, I end up doing something that puts me back on my butt, like today. I helped my 5 year old with his shower last night and moved the wrong way, and "bam", I am feeling it today. My surgeon thinks I pulled a stitch or something. Whatever I did, I am ready for it to be healed.
Sorry. Just a vent. I am tired of watching my house "fall apart" and day time TV is not a favorite of mine. Ready to get back in the mix.

I pulled a stitch this week at just over 3 weeks out. I'm stil in quite a bit of pain, but it is getting better. Try heat on it and pain meds if you need them. If you're still in a lot of pain you need to go see your sugeon to make sure there isn't something else going on like an infection. I'm the mother of a toddler and have been caring for her on my own since I was 2 weeks out. I feel your pain. I think my recovery has been a little longer because of the lifting I have to do with her.
I can promise you it does get better. Don't worry about the house work. It will be there when you feel better. I know mine isn't going anywhere! See if you can get a friend or family member to watch the kids for you long enough for you to relax a bit. Make sure you're getting your protein in as well. If you did pull a stitch it will help that area heal faster. I upped my intake to 90g a day since pulling mine and it seems to be healing rather quickly.
