Silly Question - Ring Sizes

I know this seems silly but it means a lot to me. I am scheduled to have my Gastric Bypass on June 13th and one of the many questions that I have of people who have had any type of weight loss surgery is - Will my fingers lose fat too? I have many rings that I use to be able to wear and many that are very symbolic to me and can no longer fit on. My wedding band and engagement ring are also a little snug.

If you are anything like me - plan on sizing those rings!

I started out with my wedding and engagement rings at a 10.5, sized them to a 9, then an 8 and now, I need to get them sized again. I'm thinking a 7.5 at this point, and am trying to wait and see if maybe a 7 will be ok in a few weeks. I know it's time when they start spinning randomly and clinking together around my knuckle.

Good luck!

you will at some point need to resize them... i started at a 10 on my rings, and just recently had them sized down some are 8's and some are 8 1/2... although the 8's could actually be 7 3/4's but they will not size them like that... so i may need to size down again... but u will need to count on downsizing later on....

Fingers have definitely gotten slimmer. One of my NSV was being able to put back on my wedding ring and then I was able to fit my deceased mothers wedding band which was very exciting for me.

Not long for you now!!! Good luck!

I've had the same question. On one hand I want my fingers to shrink so I can wear my size 7.5 wedding ring. On the other hand, I have many rings that mean a lot to me now that fit now. So, sizing down is going to be a must for me.

Besides the obvious change in clothing size, I've also had to buy new shoes, hats, and have from rings sized from a 9 to 6.  Good luck!

When I got engaged my ring was a 4.5. When I had surgery it was up to an 8. Now I wear a thing that keeps it from falling off until I reach my goal weight.

my rings have gotten big on my fingers...i also want to be able to wear my original wedding ring...but until i get done loosing, i want to wait to get my rings re sized...i had asked on here about things to make my rings tigher..got lots of responses..you can get "ring snugglies" from wal mart in where they sell the earring backs and such...i just asked the jewlery counter lady and she went right to them...you can get like 6 for $3 they are all different sizes..some for double bands on rings and such..
go check them out..they were a bit tight when i first put them on, but now they are getting a bit loose too...but i will do the waiting game
have a great dayu
