Purchased clothes at a regular store!

I was in very bad need of shirts for work and casual.  And a new pair of jeans.  Started at Lane Bryant and picked out some things in a 14/16.  I had to leave to meet my sister for dinner so I put them on hold and brought her back with me to get her opinion.  Turns out the things I had were all too shapeless and baggy for me so we went down to the Gap and low and behold I comfortablly fit into an XL there.  I was in such a panic walking to the other end of the mall just thinking nothing in there would fit.  I even tried on some jeans, but those were a no go.  Maybe in another month.

I did find some jeans at Old Navy though.

I am so excited.  I haven't purchased clothes from a 'regular' store for myself in 20 years.

That is the best feeling in the world - Congrats!!!! I still get tears when I realize I can walk in to any store and buy "my size" - I am still such a fat girl at heart but must say I LOVE LOVE LOVE having the option to shop any where I wish!

LUCKY!!!  I am SOOOO looking forward to this day!!!
I hate having 1 store to choose from  in the entire mall.
Oh or the the walk of shame thru miles of clothing just to get to the "Plus Size Womens" department in the back corner of the store.

Oh not to mention... I'd love some affordable clothing with style, LaneBryant is ridiculously overpriced.

It's great, isn't it? I have a couple of conferences coming up, and my old clothes (size 24 pants and 2X-3X shirts) make me look like a hobo, so I went shopping at Penney's. I haven't shopped there in about 15 years. I picked out a bunch of size 16 pants and L and XL shirts, and everything fit! (The L shirts were a little tight, but I bought them anyway -- I figure they'll fit in a couple of months.)

Oh I cannot wait for that day!   I am 5'11" and so I not only have to find clothing big enough around, sometimes I have to get up to 4X to get length in my shirts and even then that doesn't always work.  Congratulations!

I am 6' tall and I had the same issues.  I have a long torso and large 'girls'.  The shirts at the GAP were long enough and looked really cute on.  And the longs in pants at Old Navy were the perfect length.  I am very particular about my pant length.

Sarah,

I am too.  I can usually find them long enough at Lane Bryant, but shirts are always a whole different story.  I have long arms and long torso also.  Honestly, I have never looked at Old Navy because I just never thought they would carry anything in my size.  I will def. keep it in mind as I start losing the weight.  Thanks!

To me, this has made the whole thing well worth it! This is the best feeling in the world because shopping is my favorite thing! My husband actually took me to the mall yesterday and bought me this cute sundress in a size large! I still can't believe it!
