Unflavored does not equal flavorless...

Ugh.  Got my shipment of unflavored protein and had unrealistic expectations.  I figured I would use it to bump up my protein in yogur****er, etc.  Well, my afternoon yogurt tasted like yogurt mixed with nasty protein powder.  It had the unmistakeable protein shake smell, too.

Back to the 'ol drawing board!!!

I add it to my crystal lite (only about half of a serving)  It gives me more protein, but not enough to make it taste like sh$t.

sorry about your bad experience. Simply put, there is no such thing as a good tasting protein shake. Having said that, there are certain brands that taste better than others. Two brands that I (and many people) like are Nectar and Isopure. You can get 11 Nectar samples for about 20 bucks at BJ Bariatrics.

You've learned (and share) an important lesson.

My advice is to find something with a stronger taste than your protein. That usually works. If you drink sugar-free cocoa, try putting it in that or in things that have strong flavors of their own.

Protein flavor comes through in cold stuff because the flavor doesn't have a chance to blend with heat. So you have to sort of be REALLY sure you like it before adding it to things like yogurt.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

Pure Protein from BE really is flavorless and odorless.  I mix it in a multitude of foods to boost my protein - it does not change the taste or smell of the food.

Also, I love my protein shakes and look forward to them!!  I make protein coffee everymorning and a protein shake almost every night.

The NOW foods unflavored plain Whey Isolate doesn't have too strong of a flavor.  I mixed it in with oatmeal and all kinds of other things.  I mix it with yogurt too and haven't had any issues with the taste, but when I do it in yogurt I only use 1/2 a scoop.  (12.5 grams of protein)

I found that whey protein isolate works much better then other kids when it's unflavored.  My favorite is Vital Nutrients New Zealand Whey Isolate.  It actually had a bit of a taste but it was very pleasant.

I put unflavored nectar in greek yogurt with some blackberry sf preserves. I think greek yogurt could kill the taste of about anything. The preserves just make it tolerable. Makes for a 33g protein breakfast though.
