how big of a bite do you take when you are eating? when you were early out and now with some of you veterns.....i started out really small bites, but now it seems like i can almost take a normal size bite, but still chew it really well....i am just shy of 7 weeks post op...even pre op, i was not a very fast eater so this slowing down has been no problem...i was always the last one at the table pre op....

just wondering how I am doing..
thanks

I was a fast eater before, and I'm a fast eater now.  I take "normal" bites, but I still chew very well (much better than I did pre-surgery).  I did take bites about 1/2 the size I do now for the first year.

I have noticed that I tend to take very big bites.  I don't know why.  I chew it very well and swallow a little at a time but for some reason when I take a small bite it doesn't seem right.

I was and am still the first one done. I eat at a faster pace but a "normal amount" and normal size bites.

I usually take normal sized bites as well. The first few months out I would stress over the size bites I was taking. But, then I realized I had too much to worry about besides that. LOL So, I just ate at a normal, regular pace. And eventually you learn what's too big, too fast, too much, etc.

I finish my plate (smaller servings than everyone else of course) usually around the same time or a little after everyone else when I eat with people.

I get issues if I take big bites so when at home I eat with a baby spoon and fork . When out I try to be a better judge of size but usually just put up with the discomfort.

Pre surgery I was the faster eater alive.

Now, I put my food in a tiny bowl and eat with a small spoon.  I made the mistake of eating fast and not chewing early on, and that was the most uncomfortable thing that has ever happened to me.

I suppose I could take a "normal" bite, but I am training myself to eat slow and let my brain register that I am eating and when I am full.  Besides... since I am only eating about 3oz or maybe 4 oz of food.  If I took a "normal" bite, i'd be done too fast.

I take "normal" size bites, but I chew it to mush.  My nutritionist told me Friday I eat too fast.

I haven take normal bites since probably about 6 months post-op.  Even right after surgery, I was told to take small bites but was NEVER told to take the teeny tiny pencil-eraser-sized bites that some people have been told to take.  (How one can even begin to chew something so tiny is beyond me!)
