Tanning
I am almost 3 months post-op and I've been tanning for about a month now. I had a laproscopic RNY, so my incisions were very small to start with, so I can only share what mine look like. I personally think they look better. Before they were kind of pink and stood out that way. Now they're a little darker than my skin, which looks better to me. I think anything looks better than white pastey skin though!! My BFF and I have a saying that applies to tanning in general..."Tan fat looks better than white fat!!" SO, I tan every chance I get!!
I'm almost 3 years out and couldn't find my scars if my life depended on it. I think scarring is mainly a genetics thing and tanning will have no effect either way.

I don't know how it's going to affect my incisions yet...it's still too soon. However, I fell down the stairs at work 2 years ago...concrete stairs...and tore my ankle/foot up really badly. It was summer and I was at the pool all the time...I believe the tanning helped fade the scar.
