foods
so in 2 days i will be 2 months post op. it seems that i have no issues with ANY of the foods ive tried. i also know everyones NUT and surgeon are different so a lot of the things i've eaten aren't on many peoples diets this early out. i've lost 41lbs to date, 31 since surgery 4/12 and 10 additional pre op. to me that seems slow. my NUT says eat only 3x a day - theres no way i can do that since i feel run down. believe it or not pre op i only had 1 or 2 times a day. but now with smaller portions i get run down.
my days mainly consist of
breakfast - premier protein shake 30g
lunch - salad lettuce, with turkey, tiny bit of shredded cheese, and whatever FF dressing i find
dinner - varies, can be chicken, chili, dunkin donuts "wake up wrap" includes eggwhites, cheese and turkey sausage(i pull off the wrap)...or maybe nothign at all and i replace this again with another premier protein shake 30g
whether I eat dinner or not, i also have another premier protein drink so that is 60g in protein from drinks per day.
i've also been having a 32oz DECAF french vanilla iced coffee with SKIM milk. this helps me get in my liquids. otherwise i struggle. i've had that just about everyday for the last week and a half
occasionally i will *snack* on sunflower seeds. i have finished the ones that i bought and haven't bought anymore. i can eat pretty many of those and i know they are higher in fats. so i need to keep them out, which i'm going to do
does what i eat on a typical day sound decent - am i eating enough or not enough, or wrong, etc. i mean these things are on my appoved plan - just how i distribute them into my days is where i struggle
some of the things i've also had without any issues is chinese food chicken & broccoli, or chicken and mushrooms, grapes, cantelope, strawberries, kiwis, blueberries, and cherries, tilapia, tuna, eggs, wendys chilli, cauliflower, raw carrots, cucumbers, lettuce****berg and romaine). of course the fruits aren't on a typical day for me but i've had them, had no issues.

Other then the sunflower seeds, which it sounds like you know about, it sounds like you are doing good. I eat all of the things you do and I don't have any issues with anything, either. I think that is the way it is supposed to be.
You may want to eat a bit more protein. I do 3 shakes a day along with what I eat. I think it may help you not feel so run down.
I eat 4 times a day and never snack. As long as I avoid the refined carbs and snacking I do well. Make sure you are getting enough to eat and drink and you should be fine.

I have always gotten in enough fluids. Well, mostly. I am just thirsty all the time. I always have a drink near me, except when I am eating.
I will say that when I commited to getting in at least 100 grams of protein a day, along with at least 100 oz of fluids my weight loss really took off. I am one of those rare people that was happy with my weight loss. I didn't have too many stalls and the weight came off pretty steadily, reaching my first goal at 6 1/2 months and my final goal before 10 months.
I also find that when I get in enough protein and fluids I am never hungry. If I find myself short for some reason I can tell because I am hungrier then usual.

I totally agress with Ladytazz. i have also committed myself to the 80-100g protein and 80-100oz of fluid, but since I work nights, sometimes it is hard. If I am short I will have a cup od Unjury chicken soup. A whopping 20g of protein in a cup and I am thinking of trying 1 and a half scoops to make it 30g protein. Check it out. Reminds me, I am nearly out of it...
Sounds like you are eating ok. I toowould up your protein. My list says 50-60 grams a day and I always try to go over that. Somedays when I only get 60 I am worn out. COuld you maybe have a small breakfast...yougurt, cottage cheese, something then drink your shake instead? that would space out your protein some and may give you a boost to your system?

I start with a protein decaf coffee then have breakfast, lunch, mid afternoon meal, dinner. protein drink before bed. I get 100g of protein a day and about 20 oz of fluid between each meal. I feel great have have lost fine. If you are run-down, you may also want to be sure your D3 is close to 100. Getting my D3 up was a major factor in my energy level.

I am pretty much like you, so far I have not had problems eating anything. My day is much like yours except I have a bit more protein.
breakfast: gnc amplified protein shake 1 scoop with milk 24 g
snack - string cheese or yogurt 6g
lunch - 3 oz of some type of proten (turkey, tuna, chicken, etc) 21g somtimes add a little lettuce or veggie
dinner 3-4 oz of protein and some veggie or fruit 21- 28 g,
Sometimes another snack which I try to make a protein maybe almonds or string cheese, skim milk.
total at least 72 g a day - sometimes more depending on snacks.
I know I should increase my fluids, only getting about 80 ounces in - in this warm weather I feel I need more. I hit the gym 3x a week and try to walk at least 3x a week.
I was a little down about the weight loss slowing down - was doing at least a pound a day and then all of a sudden only doing about 1.5 a week. Then I really looked at my clothes and realized they were soooo baggy. I measured myself and the inches are falling off so I guess I am still on the right track. Have you been measuring yourself? You probably will see a difference there .
Heck, 31 pounds in two months - when was the last time you did that? Feel proud of yourself.
