Hi there - I am a new post-op too and am having the same questions about the sugar. I looked and looked at all the different brands of yogurt in the store today and ended up not buying any b/c the sugar content seemed too high. I am only 1 week out and I am afraid of dumping. I also had some natural applesauce in my cart and I ended up putting it back too. I am not sure how much sugar we can have at this stage. I guess I will just skip yogurt for now and besides I am lactose intolerant so I don't think I could tolerate the lactose in the yogurt anyways. I am making all my protein shakes and puddings with lactose free milk. Anyone have any suggestions?

My NUT said that yoplait light, weigh watchers, and carbmaster were fine - so thats what I've been having.  I think the key is "no added sugar" and aspartame, splenda, truvia are fine.  Hope this helps!

My program is a pretty strict and the rule for sugar is as long as there is no added sugar. Also I would suggest if you are going to try something with fruit on the bottom to stay away from seeds and blend it first. I wasn't allowed fruit on the bottom chobanis until i moved to soft solids.

Good luck

My fav greek yogurt, and what I recommend, is Fage 0% Unflavored. You can do anything to it. You can add sugar-free chocolate, sugar-free syrups (like Torani or DaVinci), sugar-free jam, fresh fruit, sugar-free jello powder, protein powders, etc.

I even make it savory (with a little seasoning) and use it like sour cream and mayo (I have a post-op mayo aversion).

There are so many possibilities and it's easy and best of all: high protein. :)

I love the Chobani yogurt too.  I wouldn't if I were you.  It's much richer and a heavier consistency than other yogurts.  I suggest Dannon Lite and baby spoons.
