I woke up this morning and it felt like something was sharp in my throat (but im on soft foods so that is not possible). As the day has progressed my throat feels worse I have a mild fever and general lethargy and fatigue. I don't feel that it is surgery related at all. I did just have surgery two and a half weeks ago and I am not sure what I can take???? Its not like I can chug OJ or tea. It took me half the day and reheating my tea five times to fini**** Any suggestions?

The other day I saw a post that said Dayquil was ok.  Also, any product that is tylenol based is ok, so like tylenol cold and flu.

Keep taking your vitamins and double up on the vitamin C.  Get lots of rest and feel better soon.

I would watch this very closely. If your fever spikes or does not go away in another 2 days or so, you need to get to a dr. to make sure you don't have strep or another kind of infection. Because you just had surgery, your immune response has been altered and you may need oral (liquid or iv) antiobiotics. If you have an infection in your throat, your stomach wounds may not heal well.
In the meantime, liquid tylonal is fine, or even some pain meds that you have left over from surgery. Try gargling with sal****er as well, and get lots of rest. Best wishes!!!
