Yesterday I posted and said I woke up in the morning with a sore throat that progressed through the day and also felt feverish and a general weakness.

This morning i woke up two hours earlier than normal because my throat hurt so bad. I could not swallow without excruitiating pain. the fever and weakness seem to be gone however.

I just went in to brush my teeth and accidentally gagged myself with my toothbrush and some phlegm came up along with a little pebble of hamburg. ( I had two bites of a hamburger patty for lunch yesterday). My throat was feeling bad prior to my hamburg eating but now I am convinced the hamburg is causing the problem to get worse. I kept gagging and more little pebbles came up. Is this what its like when food gets "stuck"? I feel like if I keep gagging intentionally the rest will come up and cure my sore throat but not sure if this is a good idea on an empty stomach...especially when my surgery was only just under three weeks ago.

I don't know what to do but my throat does not seem to be getting better despite SF popsicles, tea and chicken broth and also liquid tylenol.

I am so miserable!

When I get food stuck it is much deeper and super painful more under my breastbone.  I'm pretty sure i wasn't eating hamburger so early out...is that on your plan this early?

you have been miserable for 2 days....call your Dr.

I spoke with my surgeon's nurse and she and I came to the conclusion that its most likely due to cranking the AC the last couple of nights while we sleep. I checked and I don't have any white patches so most likely not strep or anything. She told me to gargle warm sal****er and i did and it did give me some minor relief...still painful to swallow but a little better. The hamburg bits she thought were due to my throat being so inflammed that they couldn't get down yesterday and have just been sitting there. I am praying this resolves quickly. I have family that just arrived last night from all over the country that I only see once a year. I couldn't even go see them yesterday because I felt so bad.

You don't have anything stuck if you're getting popsicles, tea and chicken broth down ok.

If something's stuck, you'll feel it in your pouch.  You'll feel the pressure and you'll have an urge to vomit it back up.  You'll usually also get the "foamies" which is your saliva that you normally swallow backing back up since you have food stuck in your stoma nothing can get down.

It's kind of strange that you found a pebble of burger from gagging.. is it possible it was just stuck in your teeth?  Another thing with the sore throat... have you looked in your throat?  A camera on your phone could be useful here.. I would call your regular dr about your sore throat tho.

Do you have your tonsils?  There are tonsil cavities that can hold bits of food like the hamburger. It's gross, but I never knew this until one my girl friend had tonsil stones and explained it to me.
Lucky you on the hamburger, I am allowed to eat it as well but can't handle any beef and I so want something different than chicken.   It maybe an upper respiratory infection.  I know that there are quite a few people in my area that has that now, maybe something that is going around.  I would definitely maybe get a hold of your PCP and see if it's that.

If you need to resort to cough drops to sooth your sore throat.....there are sugar free ones available.

Early out it is pretty easy to get thrush and I was pretty convinced that I had that, the inside of my mouth was pretty raw, but it eventually cleared up.  I don't think that you have that, that is why they had you check for the white bumps....but it is something to watch out for.
