Freezing in the Summer?

I am cold ALL. THE. TIME. If the temperatures are below 80, I am in a sweatshirt. We are in a heat wave now where I live, and I am LOVING it! Everyone else is miserable. Is this normal? How long does it last? I live in Minnesota, and our winters can be quiet fierce. I am hoping it will go away by then.

Oh yeah!  If it weren't that the a/c in my office cools the neighboring ones, it would be off.  I'm freezing.  Lack of insulation I suppose!

I get very hot when I am outside in the heat (it is 93 here today but is over 100 with the humidity factored in) but routinely have cold arms and feet in the air conditioning at work. The men and the two overweight women in the office like it cool, so I end up wearing a sweater and periodically go outside to warm up if my feet get too cold! I'm 4 years out and it is better now than it was the first year or two, but I still FREEZE in the winter (whereas with all the extra "insulation" I had pre-op I almost never even wore a coat if I was just driving anf going from car to building and back).

Before surgery, I was almost always warm/hot year round. Immediately after surgery, I changed to being colder, still being heavy! This was a new sensation for me to say the least!  This is my first summer postop (5 months out) and am cold/freezing at work's AC.  I am wearing fleece sweaters to ward off the chill and have my home AC in the high 70's as well.  As to when or if this will change or end anytime soon is anyone's guess.  From what other fellow GBSers have said, this may be a "side effect" of the surgery! All in all I really don't mind it and consider a very small price to pay for the surgery!

It's completely normal for some of us. I posted a similar post a couple months ago. I too USED to be very hot natured. I was always sweating and hot. Now I am constantly freezing. I live in Texas and everyday is over 100 degrees which I too love. I guess it just has something to do with the surgery. I notice the longer out from surgery I am it seems to lessen up a little but not much. My advice for this winter is buddle up!!!

Yes it is.  I used to be the one in my office who was always hot and sweaty.  Now I am frozen all the time.  Yesterday was the first day here in NJ that actually made me uncomfortable in a while; it was close to 100 and super humid.

Even the scorching temps in Vegas last month were nice (110, but no humidity).  I felt as though I am part lizard.  I couldn't soak up enough sun there :)

I used to make fun of my co-worker for being frozen all the time.  She is/was the size I am now, and now she teases me about being cold :)
