Sleep Study... Or not

So when someone from the hospital called me LAST WEEK and told me to come in for my second sleep study "next Monday" I assumed it would actually be the next Monday (which was yesterday) but apparently they meant the Monday after that.

Guess I should have clarified if "next Monday" meant the 18th or the 25th, and being sent away from the hospital last night without a sleep study performed is the price I paid for assuming I guess.

GRRR for a week's delay.

Interestingly, something similar happened to me.  When I went back for my second sleep study, the woman who had scheduled it had written the wrong date (also a Monday...she had meant the following Monday and not the date she had written).    It was a bit frustrating as I live an hour's drive away, but the receptionist was so upset at her mistake, I ended up feeling really guilty for my frustration, lol.

That's a slippery slope, as I'd refer to the 25th the same way the hospital did.  Let's assume today is the 11th.  I'd refer to the 4th as "last Monday", the 11th as "today", the 18th as "this Monday", and the 25th as "next Monday".  I'm not precisely sure if that is grammatically correct as far and its use in the English language, but that's the way I use it.

Hi there,

Don't sweat the small stuff. You were home in your own bed. Yes I know its frustrating and you want all the loose ends finished asap. Go with the flow, you need your time and energy for other things.

Mary~

Laugh out loud...it does a body good

Boo! I can definitely see how that would be super frustrating, esp. if you have to make kid or pe****ching arragments!
