Those of you over 6 months post op...Are there certain foods you stuff your pouch with?
Really I'm looking for those over a year out...But people will feel left out and need to respond. Is there 1 or 2 items you will use to get that full feeling that many of us crave so much. I do not feel hunger (almost 5 years out)...But I hate that not full feeling inside.
I usually will fill my pouch with things like raw vegetables and or oatmeal. I do eat right...and wrong for that matter. Just wondering is there a "go to" food you look for to get that full feeling??

I might get flamed for this, but I'll go out on a limb=)
When I want to feel "full", I mix Grape-Nuts into my yogurt. I'm not a "no-carb" or even a "low-carb" person so I do not stress over that. And, Grape-nuts are 100% whole grain with no sugar so (for me) they don't set me up for RH.
If it's night time and I want to feel full, I will eat some tomato soup with a little freshly grated parmesan sprinkled on top.
Those two things do the trick for me.

Occasionally I'll put my protein on two pieces of whole wheat bread if I'm looking for the full factor or I'll add more veggies or some sort of carb. For a while I was hooked on grits but got sick of those.

Interesting, isn't it that carbs are so often the answer?
For me I find that protein can do it (steak or old fashioned roast beef, specifically), or a serving of Instant Weight Control oatmeal.
But I remember my pre op classes with a dietitian (during the docuented pre op diet phase) who described one stage of fullness as "Thanksgiving full." As obese people, we probably experienced that "Thanksgiving full" feeling almost every day. I wonder sometimes if my "hunger" isn't really happening because I miss that feeling in some way.
On a good day, hunger isn't an emergency. But I do like to feel satisfied.
