BLISTERS!!!!!
I have been walking 2 miles a day. My heals are two big blisters. How do I fix this? I have tried bandades, no dice. My shoes eat them. I have tried clear tape, my shoes are very hungry. I have tried different types of socks, I have even tried not walking for a day (I sure do miss my book on tape that I am not allowing myself to listen to unless I walk).
I am wearing MBT's that are a couple of years old. I would have thought that shoes that I was accustomed to wouldn't give me blisters. Is it just the amount of walking I'm doing? If you think it's the shoes, what type of shoes do you suggest?
Thanks in advance for your help :)

Band aid makes a band aid specifically for heal blisters. It is large, thick, and smooth and will stay in place for several days. Your first step will be to buy a couple of those. Next step will be to let your heals "heal". You will probably have to go shoe shopping, also. It's time to pitch your old shoes!
Two items come to mind.
1) Shoes!
If your shoes don't fit correctly then they will rub and cause blisters. Not all shoes are created equal and not all shoes are designed for your foot. Best is to go to a specialty running store and get fitted. You won't pay a premium like you may think and you will end up with the best shoe for you. If you have shoes that are a couple years old you really need to invest in new ones. Shoes are good for 400-500 miles.
2) Socks! As stupid as it may sound socks can play a huge role in preventing blisters. My rule on socks is unless they are dress socks "COTTON SUCKS!" invest in some moisture wicking socks to help keep you feet dry.

Did you get a proffesional fitting from a running store? If so take them back and talk to them about your problem.

Brand and shoe model has very little to do with it when it comes to a proper fit. one person can swear by New Balance shoes and they could be a total nightmare for me. I only wear 1 brand because after the fitting it turned out to be the best fit for me, and it wasn't the most expensive. Do a fitting and you may be suprised.

Okay, I went out and was fitted for a new pair of Asics shoes. I got custom made inserts and new socks. I didn't have the money for all this, but I also am not going to put a price on my new healthy activity.
I was also told not to use bandaides, but to use things like new skin or bloodstop. That is goin on my heals next. Tomorrow, the road belongs to ME!!! LOL
