I just can't seem to find a marinade that I really like. I've tried teriyaki, and a couple other store brands (mojo and tangy). I want something that is not too overpowering. Just curious as to favorites? Thanks!

I use buttermilk, a little worchestire and garlic.  Good luck.

Lite italian dressing. Just pour right from the bottle and let sit for a few hours. Not to overpowering and taste delicious! Keeps the meat very juicy...

I buy the mix italian packet (should have marinade direction on back but if not ...) You make it without the vinigar (jusr oil, water, packert)  I season the chicken with salt and pepper and pour that over it in a zip lock.

Absolute favorite (and REALLY hard to find) is a sauce from Costa Rica called Salsa Lizano - a vegetable based sauce that kinda has an A-1 steak sauce tang... BUT for everyday marinade, Ken's Steakhouse Northern Italian salad dressing is yummy!

Depends what you are marinading..

For chicken/fish:

4 tbsp lemon juice

¼ c olive oil

3 gloves garlic minced

Some thyme, oregano, bay leaf with salt and pepper

On beef:

6 ounces Guinness or another dark beer

3 garlic cloves chopped

2 tbsp chopped onion

Salt and pepper

Another chicken:

½ cup lemon juice

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

½ cup olive oil

Salt and pepper

For pork or chicken:

3 tbsp mayo – not Miracle Whip it has too much sugar

2 tbsp worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp salt and pepper each

1 tsp poultry seasoning

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp paprika

1 tbsp onion powder
