Cheetos Cheese Puffs!

My husband brought a bag of Cheetos Cheese Puffs and even though I never liked them I was curious as to what the food label said on the bag.  The sugar is less than 1g and the Carbs are 15g. No Trans fat......I was wondering if maybe it was OK to eat a few of them as a snack?

Has anyone eaten these after surgery?  Is it OK to maybe eat baked Lays chips...not a bowl or handful, just a couple of them?  What are you guys snacking on?  I don't want to risk eating the wrong thing and have dumping....but the sugar is only 1g.

i would just be careful.  It is a slippery slope to go down.  I don't know that I would snack on that type of thing, but that is just me as chips etc. are my weakness! LOL  All I can say is that for me it would be best to just stay away from it.

Yeah your right, I didn't even have any, but I should kick him in the behind for bringing them in here in the first place.

If you have been working with your nutritionist she/he will forbid you from these snacks. If you think you can eat these foods after GBP you are sadly mistaken.

OK, I don't think Cheetos is a healthy choice, but I don't see the harm in someone eating a few of them if they really only eat a few.  I do work with my dietician and she hasn't forbidden me to eat anything.  How could she forbid me?  I'm not a child and she's not my mother.  She could advise me not to eat Cheetos, but she can't forbid it.  As far as being able to eat things like Cheetos after gastric bypass surgery, perhaps some people can't but I can eat them.  I rarely do, but I can if I want.

I don't know why I care, but it really bugs me when people say their surgeon or dietician doesn't let them do something.  I guess it's up to them if they want to give their health care providers that much power, but I think it's important to take responsibility for our own health and our choices.

Thank you for saying this. People get so ugly and become instant specialist when they have these surgeries. When in fact we do more harm than good when we deprive ourselves. I was so frustrated reading all the judgemental comments. And the nutritionist and doctors are bashing foods as we all do.

After surgery you will HAPPY to sip  some water....Chips will be the furthest from your mind!!
Weeks later,  you might be able to eat 1/2 cup of broth.

I'm 9 months out and can eat 1 cup of soup over the course of 45 minutes.

So don't treat this lightly...unless you are serious about losing weight.

Not being SNARKY, just REAL!!

Good for you for not having any!
