Nasty taste

As of today iam 2 weeks out and everydat i wake up with a dry mouth and a nasty taste .the nasty taste stayes with me all day does this last forever or will it go away .other then that everything has gone great and iam down 19 pounds

19 pounds is great! I've also noticed a nasty taste in my mouth. I think it's from my multivitamin and/or my iron because it's really metallic. It goes away after I brush my teeth. There was a post recently about some people developing halitosis after WLS. Delicious!

Ya'll are making me really look forward to this surgery!! Halitosis and everything...oh, well, 19 lbs. probably makes halitosis worth it.  I could use a little mouthwash for that!

The more water I drink, the better my mouth feels. It's definitely different than pre surgery.

Open your mouth and stick out your tongue.  If it is coated white, you have thrush.  It's pretty common after surgery.  Call your Dr and get a script.  It will probably be pills that you dissolve in your mouth 5x a day for 10 days.  Works wonders.

I TOTALLY had a white tongue, but I didn't ask the doc about it. Seems to have resolved itself when I drank not only more water, but stuff with electrolytes too.
